Rachel Bundling Tracts After Carlos Cut Them
It has been a burden of Bro Hatfield to have a printing ministry. Though our congregation is small, he has been acquiring equipment as opportunities arises. It has taken nearly five years to acquire everything we now have, but we are ready. The Lord put it upon his heart to travel to South Boston this year for the largest St Patrick’s Day Parade in the world. After mentioning it to Carlos, one of the men, he also decided to go to Boston. They were able to get very cheap round trip tickets. Now they just needed the tracts. The pastor began writing the tract after he studied the writings of Saint Patrick for several weeks. It is entitled, “Would You Be Like Saint Patrick?” Four days before leaving it was still not ready for the press. There were many difficulties with the layout. Then he could not get the Laser printer to burn the plates for the press properly. When we were able to overcome these difficulties, it was Friday evening and he needed to leave for our evening Bible study. He mentioned the work necessary to the people. At the end of the service, the folks all headed over to his garage and got to work. Ron, a pressman our pastor knows, came over as well and donated his time. We started successfully printing around 9 PM. By 5 AM we had printed, folded, banded and boxed about 24,000 tracts. Two presses broke down and one paper cutter was rebuilt in the process. Thanks to Ron J. and the congregation for all their help!!!
[We have no pictures of the pastor operating our folding machine that night.]

Last year we had our Tent Meeting at Estabrook Park in September. It was dark before we started. This year we moved the dates of the tent meeting to the first week of August. This allowed the people to come to the meeting while it was daylight and leave as it was getting dark. Bro John Sasser came again this year. His subject was Messianic Prophecy. He preached through the Messianic miracles messiah will perform to prove his office. He covered the prophecies of Daniel (though Daniel is not considered a prophet by the Jewish people). He spent a night on Isaiah 53, including why it is the Messiah and not Israel that is being spoken of in this passage. He also spoke of future events.

Rabbi Shmuel Rennert, a CHABAD rabbi, stood across the street each night and encouraged those who were of Jewish descent to come back to Judaism. The rabbi had a kind and friendly spirit about him. It was an encouragement one evening as an older Jewish gentlemen who had trusted Jesus as his Messiah conversed with the rabbi. When the older man was asked why he would not turn back to Judaism, he answered, How can I turn from the one who gave me the only PEACE I have known in my life. A Gentile man was “born” into God’s family on Tuesday evening. That man later joined a local independent Baptist Church and is faithfully serving the LORD. Another man who met us at the tent meeting has been attending our Friday night services faithfully since that time. An Israeli came by one day and asked about our services. We were able to give him a Hebrew/English NT printed by The Hope of Israel, Powder Springs, GA. www.hopeofisrael.net The Israeli was excited to learn that another Jewish man had cared enough for his fellow Jews to translate the New Testament into the Hebrew language. An older Russian Jew also came by and gratefully received a copy of the Hebrew/English NT. At the end of the week a group of Jewish businessmen came by and received literature. A Gentile family came by and received a witness of God’s saving grace one afternoon. A muslim lady came by and contrary to her faith asked about the salvation plan. She was quite open.
The point of having the meetings is to encourage and teach the saints. It is also to give the good news to the Jews and also the Gentiles!
